Digital2030 Challenge: How Sustainable Is AI?

This Challenge is an asynchronous learning experience designed to help youth aged 13-22 understand the environmental trade-offs in AI development. Participants will engage in an interactive simulation where they act as an AI engineer, making choices about hardware, datasets, and energy sources. The goal is to balance AI performance with energy consumption and environmental impact, fostering critical thinking and responsible decision-making about the technology's real-world consequences.
